i have made progress by explaining different slings and started talking about weapons using the slings

later during the fall of the roman empire the sling was forgotten and new technoligy was brought to be better than the bow or sling the invention of the trebuchet was brought into was whitch uses a SLING on the tip of the arm to throw bigger projectiles at castles and enemy territory.

another great sling is the netted sling it consists of a net for the pouch that is similar to the braiding techniques of a the braided sling but has a complex build.

the sierra nevada sling is another useful sling it was ment for short ranges and had alot more accuracy. it was a style of braiding that used the end of the cord to make a frizz on the end to help for comfort. the sheaperd in sierra nevada used this to ward of prey going for his sheep

another fascinating sling the woven sling, with many styles and desighns that make these into quite fine mater pieces and also alow much more release power.

then there is also the venerable hand sling whitch is bassicly a bigger version of the much more traditional sling it is more of what david used to sling and hurl giant rocks at goliath

then there is of course the simple string sling whitch is a simple length of cord whitch is then knotted in such a way it makes a 3 cord pouch rest, this is the simplest of all slings

like many slings, the braided sling takes much effort to make you need to make use of flat braiding techniques and split continue braiding the braided sling had alot of dexterity and strength and lasted for many years other than the cord and pouch sling whitch could wear at the base of the punch and split the cord causing many sling problems.

and yes of course....there are yet many possible variations of the sling, theres some such as braided slings, venerable sling, hemp slings and many other sort of variations now today most people like to use more easier ways of going about such as using synthetic materials for there sling such things can be produced in larger quanities and colors but we all know that quanitie is not neccesarily quality some many more of slings such as natural fiberd slings and well used to, the egyptians made use of a finely woven slings that consiisted of merely no more than a couple lengths of cord.

everyone has read their bibles hopefully therefor knowing bout the story of david and goliath david was know for battling the head of the phillipine army "goliath" and went without barely any armo and said all he needed was a sling, he was able to hit goliath in the head wherever he wanted

The main competitor of the sling, the Bow had many favorable charecteristics it had shorter distance took longer to reload and was harder to make, whitch made the sling much more easier to make and use, the weapon was extrordinary in the hands of a skilled trained user it was much more deadly than a bow, the weapon deiminished after the fall of the roman empire and was rarely seen again but the romans that used the weapon could aim know where they were going to hit there target and could hit a person in the head where they wanted.

there are several reasons of why the sling has extrordinary charectistics it is merely an exstenshion of the users body allowing the user to use the weapon like if it was his own arm.
their charecteristics live with user in spirit and soul so it was unlike the guns of today of whitch did not take much skill to use and doesent have much spirit and strength with the user like a sling.

i have made some progress by discussing the origin of the sling and decribing what the device is and how its used, next i will describe how it battles against the bow, and different ranges

IndexCard 1-What is a sling?

The sling is known to be mans first real projectile weapon able to hurl projectiles up to 1500 feet and can acomplish speeds exceeding 250 mph, the weapon consisted of 3 properties the ring finger cord, the realease cord and the pouch, the pouch was ussaly made out of leather but later people have found ways of weaving the weapon by hand or braiding it, making it alot easier to handle and making it able to last alot longer than the ones attached to leather, the weapon was held in the users dominant hand and then the user would put a rock into the pouch, put the loop around the persons finger they were comfortable with and the realease knot in the index finger

and was swung above the users head head and then when released right hurled several feet away.

daily progress
i have made some prgress by completing the 7 questions needed for class to be completeted
i will start next time by doing some research on the sling hopefully this will be easy but it should

7 things we will discuss in this blog

1. how the primitive sling modernized to alot of other weapons such as the trebuchet, onager,scorpion and ballista.
2.i am hopefully going to end up having a video of me slinging rocks and show how it prgressed to what it is.
3.its going to prove that the sling moderanized to alot of other weapons such as the sling is used on a trebucet and onager.
4.the final product will be a basic overview of the sling, a couple videos will show how the sling is used.
5.the videos will answer some many of the queestions we will be talking here such as how theyre made and how to use them
6.first i need to to give discuss what a sling is and how its made, then i want to decribe what materials they used and the technique and mastery it takes to sling. then after wards decribe the amunition the acheints used to sling.
7.then ill will decribe the genreations of what the sling had gone to.
